Designating Shenandoah Mountain as a National Scenic Area will literally take an Act of Congress. The more public support we have, the better.

To build more support Friends of Shenandoah Mountain has been reaching out to businesses and organizations.
The proposed Shenandoah Mountain National Scenic Area has gained new endorsements from about a dozen organizations and businesses this spring, bringing the total to around 250.  This does not count the thousands of individuals who have endorsed the proposal.

An endorsement indicates that a business or organization is in favor of designating our proposed Shenandoah Mountain National Scenic Area.  See our complete list of endorsers.

Friends of Shenandoah Mountain is pleased to add the following organizations to our list of endorsers:
  • Staunton-Augusta Chapter of Izaac Walton League of America (based in Churchville)
  • JMU Geography Club
  • Climate Justice Coalition at JMU
  • Charlottesville Chapter of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club,
  • JMU University Adventure Recreation Program
